Three Hearts Rum

Some projects arrive with a brief. Some arrive with a mythology. Three Hearts Rum arrived with both… and with Johnny Depp opening a window into his personal creative world.
We’re proud to share our latest creative collaboration: Three Hearts Rum, a new Caribbean spirit from Lost Horizon Spirits, co-founded by Johnny Depp and Bobby DeLeon. It’s a bottle we’re genuinely proud of, and not just because it looks good (though we think it does).
Johnny created a flag for his island in the Caribbean using tattoos from his body — each carrying personal meaning. He wanted that flag embossed onto a triangular bottle designed to sit sideways. Organic imperfections. Real cork. Vintage labels and old tax stamps. These were all part of the original creative direction brought to us by Johnny. We worked closely with the founders to bring the vision to life.
In addition to his sketches, Johnny shared elements of his personal collection and artistic references. We drew inspiration from A Bunch of Stuff, Johnny’s celebrated personal art exhibition. We saw antique bottles, collectibles, and his vast portfolio of artwork — the kind of archive that only gets assembled by someone who moves through the world with real curiosity and genuine reverence for things that last.
Our Group Creative Director, Cosimo Surace, led the collaboration:
“Johnny had a strong desire to create a brand and package with deep meaning, connection to the land, and the power to spark imagination in everyone who interacts with it. We worked collaboratively to bring to life a bottle that tells a rich and moving story.”
The result is a bottle that tells a story. It is unmistakably Johnny’s story, rooted in the Caribbean, a tribute to the islands that mean so much to him. Antiqued turquoise glass nods to the sea. A weathered paper label, set in letterpress-style typography, carries the weight of old sailors’ charts. Metal decals, pewter coins, hand-tied leather-cord neck charms, and a skull-and-bones emblem — all inspired by his personal symbols.
Many of these elements trace back to Johnny’s tattoos, which form the basis of the flag he created for his island—carried into the bottle through its embossing and reflected in the brand’s guiding motto. Each element is a symbol with a story, layered for the curious and legible to the devoted.
Three Hearts’ world extends far beyond that of a typical brand. It’s a tribute to friendship, to love, to place, and to craft. The brand’s own manifesto says it better than we can: purpose over pretense, meaning over marketing, love over everything.
For us, that’s the brief we’d always want. A founder who cares deeply, source material with real soul, and a product we’re proud to have helped bring into the world.
